Painter, color-lover, and firm believer that art belongs in everyday life — not just on gallery walls.
Where it all started
I grew up in Newport, RI, and graduated from URI. I have lived in Old Town, Alexandria, VA; Pawleys Island, SC; and retired to Delray Beach 14 years ago. Each of these was on a body of water, where I am happiest. Educated at the prestigious Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA, my coastal surroundings have deeply influenced my artistic journey. I am an accomplished artist and specialize in bright and playful florals, whimsical birds, lively fish, and captivating beach scenes. My artwork reflects my love of nature and coastal lifestyle. My paintings evoke a sense of joy and serenity, capturing the essence of coastal living with every brushstroke. My Nantucket Collection reflects the wonderful world of hydrangeas, which I have been photographing on each visit for years. With a keen eye for color and a passion for storytelling through my art, my creations adorn homes and galleries, spreading warmth and inspiration to all who encounter them. I am known among friends for enjoying vibrant colors reflecting the Florida environment. My family members have been both artistic and musical. My mom sang with The Boston Pops. My dad was a concert pianist. My aunt and brother were/are watercolorists of distinction. I am a member of the Palm Beach Watercolor Society and the Lake Worth Beach Art League. I have been in various Art Shows at the Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach, different venues in Boca Raton , Lake Worth Beach and Wellington Art Society. I currently have paintings exhibiting at the Lake Worth Art Gallery in Lake Worth Beach, and at the Wellington Art Society. My art is original, colorful, diverse and welcoming. How I work
I work primarily in acrylics, watercolour, and mixed media — sometimes all three in the same piece. I'm drawn to organic shapes, layered texture, and the kind of colour combinations that feel a little unexpected but somehow right.
My studio is a converted spare room that is perpetually covered in paint. I work in natural light when I can, with music on always. Most paintings go through at least three completely different versions before they become themselves.
Colour first
Every piece starts with a feeling about colour. The subject comes second.
Texture matters
I build up layers — paint, paper, mark-making — until the surface has something to say.
Art for living
I want my work to live in homes, not storage. Pieces that earn their wall.
